About

One of Britain's most celebrated performers

Beverley Knight MBE is one of Britain's most celebrated soul singers, though you'll also find her on the screens and radio waves.

Finding her voice as a child through singing in church, in 1995 Knight released her debut album The B-Funk at the age of 22, winning her two Black Music Awards. Signing to Parlophone in 1997, she released her next album Prodigal Sista, which was hailed "a joy to hear" (The Times) and proved to be her first commercial breakthrough, earning her Best Album and Best R&B Act at the 1999 MOBO Awards.

2002's Brit and Mercury Prize-nomination Who I Am was Knight's first Top 10 album, and the rest of the decade saw a prolific output including Affirmation (2004), Music City Soul (2007) and 100% (2009). Joining Take That on their 2006 reunion tour, as well as featuring on the BBC singing contest Just the Two of Us, helped propel her to mass audiences. In 2007 she was awarded an MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for her services to both music and charity.

Despite continuing to release music, the next decade saw Knight become a household name, appearing on daytime television shows such as Loose Women and beginning her theatrical career in earnest in 2013 by taking on the role of Whitney Houston's Rachel Marron in the musical reimagining of The Bodyguard. In the years since she has performed in Memphis, Cats, Sister Act, The Drifters Girl and Sylvia.

In October 2023 Knight embarks on her biggest ever headline tour, following the release of disco-inspired singles '‘Last One On My Mind’ and ‘Systematic Overload.' Additional shows for September 2024 at London Royal Albert Hall and a homecoming performance at Wolverhampton's The Civic at The Halls were also announced.

I've admired Beverley for many years yet only from recordings. Saw her last year putting the DIVA into Godiva festival in the very best way. What a star, what a voice, what a repertoire. What stage will she be on next. Look forward to seeing her in the midlands anytime SOON!

  • Amazing night

We found the venue ( Utillita Cardiff) easily, and the staff were helpful, the search was a bit off putting, ( they found a smashed up cereal bar, in the bottom of my bag they binned it,) Miss Beverly Knight was A-MAZ-ING, everything we hoped she'd be and more, a great show all round, would go to see her again in a heartbeat She's a very under rated super star in my opinion, she should be a global mega star, Well done Bev, well done all

  • Waste of time and money

by Mo on 30/09/2024Utilita Arena Cardiff - CardiffRating: 1 out of 5

Beverley Knight is a truly amazing performer with a fantastic voice BUT sound quality really shockingly poor, too loud and booming especially on the bass. Supporting act a real disappointing and the DJ was a patronising and boring time-waster!! Have much better things to spend £101 pounds on - not including parking and extortionate price for drinks. Won't be returning EVER AGAIN...

  • Great night spoilt

by Jeff on 27/09/2024Utilita Arena Cardiff - CardiffRating: 3 out of 5

Beverley knight what a voice - she was fantastic. Unfortunately the warm up act OKIE M was absolutely dire. The music he played was not suited for this environment. Why on earth Beverley had him was totally wrong. Nobody disputes his ability but what he played was not for this audience it was just not appropriate.

What an amazing evening at Utilita Cardiff. The show was phenomenal! What a voice! Beverley is full of energy and put on the best show. This woman doesn't get the credit she deserves. If anyone gets the chance then you should definitely go see her, you won't be disappointed.

A vibrant and impressive show. As if Tina Turner had come from Wolverhampton. Good seats in Block 4 and a great show (she didn't need the tedious support pianist or the false Bon ami if the dj…..

  • Absolutely awesome

by Rooster on 27/09/2024Utilita Arena Cardiff - CardiffRating: 5 out of 5

We got there just before the supporting act. The seats were close to the stage and the sound was amazing. The supporting act was good. Beverly came on stage about 845pm. She blew the roof of the arena she was absolutely fantastic and was close to the audience throughout. Her band and backing singers were great and we loved the whole night

I was so shocked to hear Beverly say this was her first arena concert. For many years Beverly has been our very own British Queen of Soul & this concert proved this .
