Wednesday 13 is the stage name of Joseph Poole, frontman of Murderdolls, the theatrical metal outfit that also includes members of Static-X and Slipknot.

Starting off in the early ’90s, Poole was a member of Psycho Opera alongside Abby Normal and Sicko Zero, who joined him in founding the band Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13. After several line-up changes, Frankenstein Drag Queens split and Poole instead focused on the Murderdolls project, Wednesday 13 joining with Joey Jordison of Slipknot and Tripp Eisen of Static-X.

When Murderdolls went on hiatus in 2004, Poole went on a solo tour, enlisting Death Becomes You as the backing band for his theatrical, tongue-in-cheek horror punk Wednesday 13 songs. His first solo album, Transylvania 90210, followed a year later and the band played Download along with support slots for Alice Cooper. Wednesday 13 also released a video for the single I Walked With A Zombie.

A string of albums followed, from 2006’s Fang Bang to the darker, heavier Skeletons (2008) and Calling All Corpses (2011). Wednesday 13 continued at pace, releasing an album every two years, including The Dixie Dead (2013), Monsters Of The Universe: Come Out And Plague (2015) and Condolences (2017). Wednesday 13’s guiding light, Alice Cooper, joined the band as a guest star on their 2019 record Necrophaze.

Wednesday 13 announced a UK tour set for October and November 2021, featuring dates in Bournemouth, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Leicester, Norwich and Oxford.
