Former Kasabian frontman announces debut solo tour

The eight-date tour, starting on 28 April, sees Tom return to intimate venues to preview the first songwriting of the former Kasabian singer’s career. Meighan has been teasing snippets of new music on Instagram, and fans will be able to hear the full songs at these shows. He will also be performing some of the era-defining classics which made his name.

Anyone expecting Tom to repeat the style of his old band will be stunned by where the singer is taking his own music. The autobiographical semi-acoustic ballad was released as a free download, rather than via traditional streaming services, to raise awareness of mental health issues. As well as showing fresh lyrical depth, ‘Would You Mind’ is as anthemic as anything in Tom’s past.

There is a new excitement in Tom’s music too. Having waited years to become a songwriter, Tom shows a willingness to experiment in his new songs, while keeping the powerful vocals and mightily infectious way with a tune that led Tom to headlining festivals and stadiums throughout the world with Kasabian.

  • Long awaited return

Tom was the voice of Kasabian. Yes Serge is clearly the brains behind the music, but voice = soul. By comparison (although again musically brilliant) Kasabian have become a cover band of themselves. Tom, welcome back.

First saw him at iow festival this year which was utter raw emotion, didn't know how the crowd would react, but they were utter brilliance. At LES-TAH, a much more confident Tom with the band superb (as always). Old and new classics, leaving the crowd wanting more. Thank the lord they're here and saved us from monotony.

Tom was on top form at this homecoming show. He played a mixture of old Kasabian tunes and his solo stuff. We had an amazing night.

  • The true voice of Kasabian - smashed it out of the park

by Steve B on 14/12/2024O2 Institute Birmingham - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Tom smashed the O2 Institute and took the roof off again! Had the pleasure of meeting Tom and the band at soundcheck and you really get to see how hard they work to get things perfect. Highly recommend taking a listen to Tom's own music, he is the true voice of Kasabian.
