The Arizona rockers headline O2 Academy Islington this November

The Summer Set bring their euphoric pop-rock to London on Thursday 23 November as they headline the O2 Academy Islington.

Comprised of Brian Logan Dales on vocals, guitarist John Gomez, bassist Stephen Gomez and drummer Jess Bowen, Summer Set formed in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2007. They got their first record deal a year later, signing to The Militia Group off the back of their self-released debut EP Love the Love You Have.

The band released a couple more EPs that year before unveiling their debut studio album, Love Like This, in October 2009. The LP featured the pop-punk super hit 'Chelsea', as well as the likes of 'Girls Freak Me Out' and 'The Boys You Do (Get Back At You)'. The band swapped this happy-go-lucky sound for a more sombre and serious tone on their 2011 sophomore Everything's Fine, which saw the group opt for big anthems such as 'About A Girl' and 'When We Were Young'.

2013's Legendary saw a return to the spirited and happy sound the group are known for. 'Boomerang' is a streaming hit thanks to its catchy pop chorus and acoustic rock aesthetic. 'Lightning In A Bottle' is another fan favourite. Its follow-up, Stories For Monday, was released three years later.

After a few years of hiatus, The Summer Set returned in 2021 with the single 'Street Lightening', which would feature on their fifth studio album, Blossom, a year later. The album had a sheeny synth-pop sound, and included contributions from Against The Current and Travie McCoy.
