The Crazy World of Arthur Brown:
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown hits the road with a brand new live show including the now legendary fire helmet and rock n roll theatricals performing the album that includes the massive hit ‘Fire'.
Arthur Brown first came to prominence in swinging London in 1967, after spending some time on the Paris underground scene Arthur was quickly signed to Track Records at the instruction of The Who's Pete Townshend and released the single Devils Grip, regarded by some as the record that gave the birth of Heavy Metal.
Arthur is best thought of for his 1968 Number One single Fire that still gets regular airplay all over the world and has been covered by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Die Krupps, The Prodigy and The Who.
Arthur's next band Kingdom Come performed as the main act at the first filmed Glastonbury Festival in 1971 and in 1973 Kingdome Come was the first band to release an album using a Drum Machine.
Artists such as Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper and Bruce Dickenson site Arthur Brown as a major influence on them and in this Arthur's fifth decade in music the fire is far from out.
Arthur's most recent album Voices of Love had major critical acclaim and Arthur received the Classic Rock magazine showman of the year award
Moulettes
Moulettes have been playing together for several years now. After a couple of EPs and singles they released an acclaimed debut album on Balling The Jack/Sotones in 2010, which found its way on to several Best Of The Year lists. They also won an Innovation Award from the prestigious Fatea roots-music website. Their charismatic, idiosyncratic brand of modern folk music - which incorporates elements of prog-rock, gypsy, Classical and swing - enthralled crowds at many festivals, including Larmer Tree, Glastonbury, Big Session and Latitude, where they played BBC Radio 3's Late Junction stage.
Members of Moulettes have recently performed and/or recorded with Seasick Steve, John Paul Jones, Paloma Faith, Bonobo and Paul Heaton of The Beautiful South. While ex-Moulette (2005-2007) Ted Dwane, now of Mumford & Sons returned to the fold in summer 2011 to help record the band's second album, The Bear's Revenge, due out in June 25th, 2012, preceded by the single Sing Unto Me on May 28th 2012. Other guests include acclaimed folk-blues songstress Liz Green, Irish flute and whistle player Ríoghnach Connolly of the estimable Honeyfeet, silver-throated Laura Hockenhull and virtuoso banjo-ist, Matt Menefee of American nu-bluegrass band Cadillac Sky.
Moulettes' entrancing combination of strings and the celestial; wind and weirdness; rhythm and murder has lead to comparisons with the Unthanks, Tom Waits and Shostakovitch. But, they have a sound and presence all of their own. Unmissable and destined for the heights.
