Will Naameh grew up in the affluent area of – you guessed it – Hammersmith, attending an all-boys private school. It’s not the traditional springboard for a career in freelance rap, but this adds to Naameh’s niche. He nurtured his performing skills while studying linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, where he took improv classes, and later formed the troupes Men With Coconuts and The Spontaneous Players.

Naameh began trying his hand at freestyle rap and, from 2016 onwards, began appearing on the comedy and festival circuits. He soon earnt a name for his signature format where stand-up meets freestyle as audience members throw themes and words into the mix.

In summer 2024, MC Hammersmith announced a major new UK tour, The MC Stands For Middle Class, which starts its run in Glasgow in March 2025.
