Limerick-based 3-piece, Kingfishr, have quickly established themselves as one of the rising prospects in Irish music. Part of the newest generation of Irish contemporaries, the bandās grand, atmospheric tone married with their propensity for catchy melodies has resonated with a wide audience.Ā Ā
In 2 short years, they have racked up over 12 million streams on Spotify to date, were included in Spotifyās Fresh Finds UK & IE: Class of 2023 and began 2024 as Spotify RADAR: First Listen UK & IE Artists. 2023 saw debut sold out tours across the UK and Ireland as well as a host of supports with major artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Walker, James Bay and Snow Patrol as well as festival performances includingĀ Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Electric Picnic, Isle of Wight and Rock Werchter festivals,Ā The Neighbourhood Weekender follows in May as well as Mad Cool (Madrid) and a return to Latitude in July, in addition to sold out headline shows in Ireland this Summer.Ā Kingfishr have recently won the Music Moves Europe Award, and have also been nominated for Irish Breakthrough Artist at the RTĆ Choice Music Prize Awards.
Despite already achieving so much, Kingfishr are yet to release their debut album - their biggest body of work so far being the Irish Independent Chart #1 āLive From Dublinā album. And itās in the live arena that theyāve built much of their word-of-mouth following. Whether theyāre playing house parties, impromptu pub jams or ever bigger live shows (they sold 20,000 tickets during their sold-out UK and Ireland tour late last year), they bring the same power, passion and natural charm thatās constantly winning them new admirers.
At the end of last year Kingfishr released two new songs āBet On Beautyā and āKilleaghā which celebrates Killeagh GAA, the hurling club which Eoin āFitzā Fitzgibbon (bass) played for.Ā

Best upcoming band for years! Great interaction with the crowd, very talented and entertaining! Seen them twice and can't wait for them to come back to Birmingham.
Felt like a cosy pub gig watching friends play. The lads in this band are talented, humble and uplifting. Skilled songwriters and fabulous musicians who enjoyed the gig as much as the crowd. So full of energy and smiles. Heartwarming. Cannot wait to see them againš
Having seen Kingfishr in Luxembourg in the summer we wanted to see more. What a great band, so entertaining foot tapping from start to finish . Venue was a lovely intimate space allowing the band to be really quite relaxed Hopefully these guys will see their career continue to fly - absolutely amazing
Seen these a couple of times and each time they have drawn in the audience. Lead singer has such a fab voice that sounds so deep and resonating. They are so upbeat and sing catchy tunes. Amazing and worth a view live.
