Soul singer whose 1991 debut Voices went platinum in the UK

Kenny Thomas remains one of the most important and successful UK soul singers of his generation.

His debut album Voices sold 600,000 copies in the UK alone on Chrysalis Records in 1991, achieving a total of eight Top 40 singles whilst picking up two BRIT-Award Nominations for ‘Best Male Vocalist’ and ‘Best Newcomer’.

In lockdown, Gary Barlow invited him to sing ‘Thinking About Your Love’ on his ‘Crooner Sessions’, which went on to be a viral hit, with well over four million views ahead of other guests such as Rod Stewart and Journey. In late 2021, Kenny also released his autobiography Baring My Soul which received outstanding reviews alongside being featured in a BBC Top of The Pops documentary on BBC2 having performed on the show no less than nine times over 30 years.

Following news of a Best Of album release, in September 2023 Thomas revealed he would be going on a 9-leg UK tour in spring of 2024. Due to popular demand, another series of shows was announced for autumn 2024, The Outstanding Greatest Hits tour, live with The Soul-String Collective.

    I have been following Kenny since the early 90s and have seen him numerous times in concert. The most recent one was at the dome theatre in Liverpool. Not a great venue but kenny and the band were absolutely fantastic as always. We were right at the front singing and dancing and I even got a birthday kiss on the hand from the lead guitarist!!!! Kenny just gets better as the years go on he is such a lovely humble man and so very talented

    Saw Kenny Thomas during a Soul Weekender at Butlins Bognor. Not seen him live since the early 90's Absolutely amazing. Voice was great & he sang effortlessly throughout. Would definitely book to see him play again

    To see a top talent who can still grace the stage and make singing look so easy was refreshing and after all this time mr Thomas did not disappoint a excellent night of music and took me back to when music was music and I loved the sound and the venue as a nice place to see a true legend sing I think him and Lisa stanfield need to come together and do a world tour it would be hot ticket and sure two amazing people with highest talent would sell out any place they were on stage thank For a great night mr Thomas you was outstanding

    Great Venue for a great Artist. We have only seen Kenny Thomas twice but he has never dissapointed. Superb note perfect voice backed by a talented band. All the old favourites and more. My wifes cup of tea but i know talent and showmanship when i see it.

    The show was brilliant we did not want it to end! The only comment we would make is the lady that came on before Kenny her songs were to depressing needs to be more uplifting, we were glad that the DJ came back on
