JC Stewart Tickets

Raised in Derry, John Callum Stewart, the singer who goes by JC Stewart (which is also the name of his family’s long-established grocery store business), picked up a guitar when he was 12. His mother also pushed him toward music, signing him up for weekly piano lessons, and Stewart fell in love with songwriting while he was in secondary school. At the age of 17, he got his first studio experience working on a remix of Chic’s Le Freak with Nile Rodgers and Rudimental.

In 2014, Stewart self-released his debut single Gold. He continued to release music periodically in the coming years including the tracks Parachute and The Dam, which arrived in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Warner Records signed Stewart in 2018 and two more tracks – Medicine and Like I Did – followed later that year. During this time he also honed his skills as a songwriter while working with Lewis Capaldi on Hollywood, a song on his No.1-charting debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent. Stewart later went on to collaborate with artists like Kodaline and Snow Patrol.

In 2019, Stewart started to break through and reach a wider audience with the release of the autobiographical track Have You Had Enough Wine? about a final conversation he had with an ex-girlfriend. Four more heart-rending tracks were released that year – Bones, Stay, Wrong Ones and Pick Up Your Phone. Becoming something of a heartbroken troubadour with a guitar, Stewart’s sister gave him the nickname Professional Sadboy. He finished out the year providing support on tour with Freya Ridings.

Stewart released more new music in 2020. In addition to the tracks I Need You To Hate Me and Lying That You Love Me, he wrote a parody of the Friends theme song about lockdown. When he uploaded a video to TikTok, it went viral after being shared by Jennifer Aniston.

Stewart helped co-write an EP with BRIT Award-winning artist Tom Odell at the end of 2020. In early 2021, he released the song Break My Heart, which was written with Niall Horan over Zoom during lockdown.

In October 2021, Stewart announced a rescheduled date for his special live show at London's O2 Academy Islington in June 2022, a few days before his return to Northern Ireland for a show in Belfast.
