Formed in a squat in Peckham in 2011, Fat White Family have garnered critical and public adulation for their skuzzy mix of country, rock & roll, post-punk, and nihilistic psychedelia, recalling the likes of The Fall, The Birthday Party, The Bad Seeds, and Charles Manson.
Overseeing various line-up changes since their inception, singer Lias Saoudi – who is often decked out on stage in nothing other than skin-coloured spandex tights – has remained the only constant member.
Throughout their handful of albums, Fat White Family have consistently poked fun, picked scabs, and daringly pushed the boundaries of disgust, confusion, and despair in their music and performance.
No wonder they're frequently touted as a must-see band. If you can stomach it, that is.
