Great event but shame about disability access
by Ann on 14/07/2024Sefton Park - LiverpoolRating: 4 out of 5Love to see Cream Classical, have seen them many times but this year I've got some disability issues and am hobbling about on crutches. Applied for disability access which was all fine and was great you gave a free ticket to my assistant however to actually get access into the park was quite disappointing. The taxi dropped us at a small roundabout which the driver said was as close as he could get. This meant we had quite a long walk to get to the box office. From there it was ok to get in and the disability platform was great, especially the Mobloo which was spotlessly clean and was hands down the nicest loo I've ever used at a festival so thank you for that. Leaving the event was difficult being dark and muddy and we were told that we could go out the same way we had come in but when we got there the security personnel said we were not able to leave via that exit, marked as an emergency exit, because it was all locked up. They directed us to leave via the main entrance which was a much further walk. As we approached the main exit we asked again why we could not leave via the other exit and why would an emergency exit be locked and the security guy said it was wrong we had been refused exit via that route & took us back that way. So it seemed a little disorganized at the end sadly and as I said there was much more walking than I expected. But despite the hiccups it was a good event.
